in 1990s, kurumoch s passenger traffic rate decreasing, therefore didn t have significant investments. passenger traffic relatively low , served comfort in old terminal. passenger traffic rate began increase, problem of overcrowding potential threat. kurumoch s terminal meant approximately 1,250,000 passengers annually, in 2008 airport serving on 1,400,000 passengers. main terminal did not have definite arrival section until late 1990s , today s domestic , international baggage claim not equipped handle such flow of passengers.

in spring 2011, contest on investment towards complete reconstruction of kurumoch s facilities announced. in fall 2011, hc airports of regions won bid , gained full legal rights on investment of kurumoch international airport. airports of regions finished developing complete plan on construction of multiple new facilities in spring of 2012. construction split 2 phases: phase , phase ii. initial price of new airport placed @ 339,11,1370 usd or 13,000,000,000 rubles. today, builders of new airport cjsc kompact saint petersburg. kompakt set deadline on completion of phase on december 31, 2014. phase ii said completed spring of 2018; before 2018 fifa world cup, in samara official host city.

phase i

phase include construction of terminal b, ground parking lot, new cargo terminal, , additionally reconstruction of unused runway.

the airport terminal have 7 jet bridges, 2 of them being double bridges, 4 conveyor belts, 2,000 m² of duty-free shops, business lounge, 24 check-in desks, , commercial shops/restaurants. new terminal said on 41,700 m². jet bridges supplied thyssen krupp company. airport have 5 floors together: 3 main floors , 2 mezzanines. first floor have check-in desks, baggage wrapping, commercial stores such trip, , zdorovye lyudi (Здоровые Люди). blueprints show arrivals , baggage claim section on second floor. third floor contain security desks, passport control , departure zone, duty-free shops , vip lounge. domestic , international security check stations , passport control separate each other. domestic part of airport said have 4 jet bridges, while international have 3. there 7 gates jet bridges , 6 bus systems. new terminal have variety of restaurants. airport able handle 4,000,000 passengers per year.

phase ii

phase ii include construction of business center , hotel connected or near terminal b, train system kurumoch international airport samara , levelled parking lot.
