prior formation of modern kingdom of saudi arabia, native population arabian tribes, either nomads (bedouins), or sedentary farmers , merchants. rest of population consisted of arabs were, various reasons, unaffiliated tribes, , lived in towns , villages of najd working in various trades such carpentry or sonnaa (craftsmen). there small segment of population made of african east , south eastern european slaves or freedmen.
