the south cameroon plateau experiences equatorial climate of guinea subtype. area experiences 4 seasons each year: 2 rainy, , 2 dry. long dry season december march (or longer in northern reaches of plateau), short rainy season march june, short dry season in august, , long rainy season september december.


rainfall averages 1,500–2,000 mm per year, , precipitation common during dry seasons. however, rainfall higher near coast , in south , diminishes toward northeast. coastal city kribi, example, receives 2,970 mm of rain each year, moloundou in southeast gets 1,502 mm, , yoko gets 1,638 mm.


the temperature remains steady year round, averaging 25°c. fluctuates seasons. long, rainy season coldest time of year, , long dry season warmest. humidity high year round.
