the department of mathematics started in 1979. there 7 faculty members, holding postgraduate degrees, 3 of whom hold phd qualification. department recognized research centre vtu in 2005 pursue research towards phd degree in mathematics. faculty engaged in research in areas such spectral graph theory, distances , domination theory , have published research papers in indian , foreign journals , presented papers @ national , international conferences , seminars. many of faculty members of professional societies such iste, kma, vtumtf, adma.
