the computer centre caters computing needs of faculty members , students research , teaching. has user base of 2500 600 active users @ moment. centre has servers ibm netfinity, ibm 400, dec alpha ds10, compaq proliant. centre has 240 linux , windows 2000/xp pcs, , 40 engineering graphics workstations. computers in centre connected through 10/100 mbit/s network. computer centre supports institute-wide 100 mbit/s fiber optic network connects academic departments, central library, , administrative departments computer centre. internet , e-mail services provided users through dedicated 2 mbit/s internet link. users can use computing resources of institute residences dialing through. computer centre operates 12 hours day.

facilities: linux applications lab, windows applications lab, programming , applications lab. on-line based training facility, cad/cam applications lab, dos based application lab, vlsi , design applications lab, internet applications & browsing centre, network applications lab, database applications laboratory, e-gitnet server room, stores/maintenance cell.
