the contracts awarded in sections:

erstfeld (the 7.7 km (4.8 mi) section erstfeld amsteg), 2 tunnel boring machines (tbm) boring 2 tubes. break-through of east tube between erstfeld , amsteg took place on 15 june 2009. portal area surface-mined.
amsteg (the 11.3 km (7.0 mi) section amsteg north of sedrun), arge agn (strabag , züblin murer) received contract work in sector. on 9 december 2009, amsteg section officially delivered owner fitting-out, civil engineering, construction, concrete , lining work completed in 2010.
sedrun (the 8.6 km (5.3 mi) east tube , 8.7 km (5.4 mi) west tube in section north , south of sedrun), along work performed transco (bilfinger se, implenia, frutiger , impresa pizzarotti). final breakthrough in west tube occurred in march 2011. northbound tubes amsteg sedrun multifunction station (north) handed on railway systems contractor transtec gotthard on 15 september 2011, date specified in construction schedule.
faido (13.4 km (8.3 mi) east tube , 13.6 km (8.5 mi) west tube in section south of sedrun faido), consorzio tat (alpine mayreder bau, csc impresa costruzioni, hochtief , implenia , impregilo).
bodio (15.9 km (9.9 mi) east tube , 15.6 km (9.7 mi) west tube in section faido bodio), work performed consorzio tat (alpine mayreder bau, csc impresa costruzioni, hochtief, implenia , impregilo). civil engineering construction, concrete , lining works completed in 2010.
