since akkad (or agade), capital of akkadian empire, has not yet been found, available chronological data comes outlying locations ebla, tell brak, nippur, susa , tell leilan. clearly, expansion of akkad came under rules of sargon , naram-sin. last king of empire, shar-kali-sharri managed hold things upon death, empire fragmented. finally, city of akkad destroyed guti.
gutian kings
first appearing in area during reign of sargon of akkad, guti became regional power after decline of akkadian empire following shar-kali-sharri. dynasty ends defeat of last king, tirigan, uruk.
only handful of guti kings attested inscriptions, aside sumerian king list.
second dynasty of lagash
following collapse of akkadian empire after shar-kali-sharri of akkad under pressure invading gutians, lagash gradually regained prominence. client state gutian kings, lagash extremely successful, peaking under rule of gudea. after last gutian king, tirigan, defeated, utu-hengal, lagash came under control of ur under ur-namma. note there indication order of last 2 rulers of lagash should reversed.
fifth dynasty of uruk
uniting various sumerian city-states, utu-hengal frees region gutians. note sumerian king list records preceding 4th dynasty of uruk yet unattested.
third dynasty of ur (sumerian renaissance)
in apparently peaceful transition, ur came power after end of reign of utu-hengal of uruk, first king, ur-namma, solidifying power defeat of lagash. dynasty s end destruction of ur elamites , shimashki, dynasty included little more area around ur.
