strigino s intense passenger traffic rate increase provoked interest multiple stock companies, including basel aero , hc airports of regions. aor (airports of regions) won bid on investment project in strigino in 2011. same year developed 10-year reconstruction plan 2011-2021, broken down 3 phases.

terminal 1

this old terminal building still works currently, , before opening of new terminal in 2016, used serve both domestic , international flights. current occupation terminal under decision.

terminal 2

this new airport terminal constructed in 4 march 2016, in same day has began testing passenger operations, real operations commencing under decission. difference between terminal 1 , terminal two, terminal 2 contains air-bridges , has bigger building. current occupation terminal under decision.

railway

it proposed nizhny novgorod international airport in future serve 4th airport of moscow. measures have been taken cement idea. has been officially confirmed moscow kazan high-speed rail pass through strigino airport. railway go moscow s kursk railway station planned railway station 700 m airport s new terminal. ride estimated @ 2 hours. major project planned bring on 6,000,000 passengers moscow nizhny novgorod int. airport 2025.

phase i

phase consists of construction of new terminal: terminal b. terminal 27,800 m² , have 4 jet bridges, supplied thyssenkrupp company. terminal b 3 stories high, , able support 1,500,000 passengers annually. phase consists of building 800 slot parking lot 28 slots handicapped citizens. airports designs made hintan assosiates company. phase set done on december 31, 2015.

phase ii/ phase iii

phase ii takes consideration construction of 4 star hotel, high-speed railway station, , expansion of terminal. expansion consists of additional 2 jet bridges , 8,000 m². phase iii includes added 2 more jet bridges , 10,000 m² of total terminal area, construction of several business centers , cargo terminal. phase ii said completed 2018, whilst phase ii should done in 2021.
