the w166 version unveiled @ new york auto show, takes form of facelift of existing mercedes-benz m-class (w166). gle 500 e first plug-in hybrid in model range, combining 333 hp v6 engine 116 hp electric motor. first 19 units delivered in american market in june 2016.

the mercedes-benz gle-class coupe (c292) coupé version , heavily related w166, sharing platform, mechanicals , interior (but having unique body similar design). c292 coupe unveiled public in january 2015 @ north american international auto show.
