keita began professional career in malaysia perak, making debut on september 12, 2004 against pkns fc. impressed perak fa s fans carried off pitch 2 jubilant fans after match went on play key role in perak fa s malaysian fa cup winning team, led contract being renewed 2005 season.
keita won golden boot award 2006 season, scoring 17 goals. 1 of 3 nominees favourite import player award in inaugural malaysian football awards did not win.
he linked move away club indonesian team persija jakarta in 2007, did not let rumours affect on-pitch performance, , ended perak s top scorer once again 2006/2007 season.
keita released contract @ end of 2007 season due family issues , , after attending trials french side fc lorient. signed bruneian side brunei dpmm fc, , played 1 season them in singaporean s. league.
in january 2009, keita signed portland timbers in usl first division. keita s preferred playing position striker, can operate in midfield behind front two.
following 2009 usl-1 season, portland loaned keita salgaocar s.c. of indian i-league. keita returned portland in april, 2010.
after returning timbers loan, keita failed find form in 2010 season. keita appeared in 10 league games , scored 1 goal. on september 1, keita transferred indian club pune.
pune fc
on december 3, 2010 keita started in pune fc first game of season, tie 1-1 against mohun bagan. on january 30, 2011 keita scored first hat-trick club against jct mills in i-league.
kelantan fa
after 2 season pune fc, keita returned malaysia join malaysian club kelantan fa fourth import player 2012 afc cup competition. however, not eligible play in afc cup because of problems regard international transfer certificates (itc).
