the terracotta exterior has tripartite theme of related, distinct façades. entrance façade architect s centrepiece , decorated frieze under triple window carries royal coat of arms , wolverhampton coat of arms. other 2 façades celebrate english literary giants; chaucer, dryden, pope, shelley, byron , spenser on 1 side , milton , shakespeare on other. extension newsroom , students room added in 1936 followed small brick , concrete extension @ rear in 1970s.
wolverhampton city council operate 14 branch libraries within city.
