public libraries

cinco ranch served cinco ranch branch library of fort bend county libraries system, located across cinco ranch high school , 1 block texas state highway 99 (grand parkway). library first opened katy/fort bend branch library in room on campus of university of houston system @ cinco ranch in june 1998. in 1999 branch, outgrew first location, moved former cinco ranch development company sales office result of efforts of katy/fort bend friends. community asked larger library, , fort bend county judge jim adolphus organized efforts have library established. adolphus negotiated donation of library site terrabrook, developer in cinco ranch, , secured challenge grant. in addition, adolphus , fort bend county judge candidate bob hebert co-hosted fundraising gala challenge grant. cinco ranch community, led katy/fort bend friends association, worked fort bend county officials find funds construction of new library. current 33,500 square feet (3,110 m) library opened on april 3, 2004.
