only 1 sonogram has been made of b. socotraensis, , because of such small sample size, behavioural trait has not been included in taxonomy. call similar other species of same genus, namelybuteo rufinus, b. buteo, , b. oreophilus . key identifying characteristic of species call short period (<1 second) between calls. call has frequency of 2.2 khz, similar different frequency other species in same taxa.


diet

the island of socotra island has scarce population of mammals, making socotra buzzard s diet consist of reptiles , invertebrates. opportunistic hunting style makes unlikely hunts on other species of birds.


reproduction

aerial tumbling , talon grappling have been observed behaviour during breeding season, occurs in september–april, egg laying in september–january. build nests on cliffs or crevices, , broods have been observed range between 1-3 nestlings. both male , females have been observed tending young, , remaining present during post-fledging period. nests have been found @ altitudes of 150-650m, in shaded areas protect them sun during day.
