on december 15 [o.s. december 2] 1917, sfatul Țării proclaimed moldavian democratic republic, inculeț president. on april 9 [o.s. march 27] 1918, sfatul Țării decided union of bessarabia romania , inculeț appointed minister bessarabia in romanian government.


on october 22 [o.s. october 9] 1918, ioan simionescu proposed inculeț member of romanian academy , elected full member on meeting took place following day. inaugural speech named space , time in new scientific light , talked importance of einstein s 1916 theory of relativity.


together pan halippa, inculeț founded bessarabian peasants party, militated land reform in bessarabia. in 1923, wing of party joined national liberal party.


inculeț died on 18 november 1940 , buried @ bellu cemetery in bucharest. remains of ion c. inculeț , spouse, roxana cantacuzino, moved bârnova on june 7, 1942. tombs of inculeț , wife inside bârnova church (built 1942-47).
