in game, there 4 sessions . in session i, scythian travels through countryside near caucasus mountains on quest. scythian meets black-haired girl, colloquially called girl, tending sheep in meadow near start of journey. come upon man cutting wood named logfella, , dog named dogfella. logfella reluctantly agrees lead them mountain mingi taw. path ends @ canyon, on other side of massive face carved mountain, mouth being entrance cave.

the scythian raises sword under rainbow near canyon , tongue extends mouth. scythian crosses mingi taw alone. eventually, scythian arrives @ goal deep under mountain: book of powerful sworcery known megatome. scythian s sword reacts presence of megatome, , use cut book free skeletal hands hold in place. suddenly, hands , antlered skull hovering above come alive , chase scythian through caves of mingi taw. scythian escapes, eyes , mouth of face on mingi taw close , exude black smoke, , thunderstorm begins overhead. wolf-like creature 3 eyes pursues scythian, dog, , logfella make way logfella s cabin. first session ends scythian triumphant having obtained megatome.

afterwards, presented second session of superbrothers: sword & sworcery ep archetype . monitors scythian s progress throughout story, calling journey series of tests (or sessions). shortly thereafter, return scythian teleporting platform east of logfella s cabin. scythian makes logfella s cabin, girl suggests awakening several nearby sylvan sprites – mystical creatures grant miracles summon them – break thunderstorm. reminds scythian these sprites emit bubbles (which interpreted scent) , specific sound whenever around. , so, scythian travels countryside, locating 3 sylvan sprites , breaking thunderstorm. reach third sylvan sprite, scythian must traverse side of mingi taw, door path leading there locked. logfella, holds key, tells scythian lost while dreaming. explains sitting near hearth of fire inside cabin 1 enters dream space.

inside dream, scythian watches boor s dancing about. approaching it, boor begins run away. following it, reaches side of lake, logfella s key is. it, travel side of mingi taw awaken third sylvan sprite , break storm. when sylvan sprites awakened, girl , logfella see event time of miracles, told in tales between folks of caucasus. once storm has passed, mysterious light emanates @ maze-like structure in meadow near logfella s cabin. after chanting song of sworcery, geometric figure appears. geometric figure, upside-down triangle, recognized in megatome golden trigon , piece of trigon trifecta. approaching golden trigon, scythian readies sword , shield, begins attack. trigon s attacks begin projectile-like beam before progressing lasers being shot out of eye-like figure trigon assumes, of follow pattern of song being played during battle. after defeating golden trigon, scythian stores in megatome, , session ends.

the scythian searches dreams of girl , logfella , finds remaining 2 trigon pieces. allows teleported mingi taw vanquish antlered ghost (referred gogolithic mass), @ great cost themselves. archetype warns fatal. after final showdown three-eyed wolf, scythian activates trigon trifecta , megatome @ summit of mingi taw, sacrificing , vaporizing gogolithic mass. logfella , girl somberly cremate scythian s body.
