Hall 1 Fleet Air Arm Museum
hall 1 undergoing refurbishment during 2008
this hall contains display development of naval aviation days of airships , fabric-covered wooden biplanes modern jet aircraft , helicopters, including front section of fuselage of short 184 8359, built locally westland aircraft in yeovil , flown @ battle of jutland in 1916 before being put on display @ imperial war museum, damaged during second world war when museum hit bomb, displayed in unrestored condition.
currently contains following aircraft
short s.27 (replica). aircraft similar used make first takeoff moving ship in 1912.

supermarine walrus l2301, 1 of aircraft flown irish air corps before being bought fleet air arm after war use training aircraft.
