allemang selected in first round of 1975 cfl draft ottawa rough riders seventh overall pick. played in regular season games rough riders 1975 1976. in 1975 season, rough riders lost in east division final. following season, won 64th grey cup, making allemang grey cup champion first time.
hamilton tiger-cats
allemang signed hamilton tiger-cats before 1977 season, , went on play in 31 games tiger-cats through 1978. used in variety of roles. while al romano injured in 1978, allemang featured starting defensive lineman. later replaced injured bruce holland defensive tackle. outside of these brief stints starter, allemang served back-up both offensive , defensive lines.

on may 18, 1979, hamilton tiger-cats traded allemang , draft pick winnipeg blue bombers linebacker harry walters , defensive end jim heighton. retirement of buddy brown left blue bombers looking offensive guard, , transitioned allemang role on right side of offensive line. allemang played in 16 regular season games during 1979 season, on offense. returned defensive line in 1980 , alternated between offense , defense remainder of time blue bombers. in 1981, allemang saw reduced role, playing in 4 games. after playing 36 total regular season games blue bombers, allemang cut in october 1981.

in march 1982, reported montreal alouettes sign allemang, instead joined tiger-cats following month. in 1983, allemang part of offensive line described worst in cfl , allowed fewest quarterback sacks , advanced east final before losing toronto argonauts. tiger-cats advanced grey cup in 1984 lost blue bombers after offensive line created 24 rushing yards on 9 carries. in 1985, allemang converted offensive tackle center, , performance in new role described commendable head coach al bruno. allemang named east division all-star , nominated leo dandurand trophy, goes east division s outstanding offensive lineman. tiger-cats again appeared in grey cup game, losing bc lions 37–24. in championship game, offensive line blocked allow 213 rushing yards on 24 carries. allemang remained center in 1986 , received second east division all-star distinction. tiger-cats won 74th grey cup against edmonton eskimos 39–15 after entering game severe underdogs, providing allemang second grey cup ring.

allemang remained in role center rough riders. in 1987, played in 11 regular season games, missing time due knee injury required surgery. allemang re-signed rough riders before 1988 season , went on play in 18 games. second time, nominated leo dandurand trophy.
in march 1989, incoming head coach steve goldman developed long-term strategy rough riders involved focus on developing younger players. part of efforts, goldman gave allemang ultimatum retire or released team, , allemang announced retirement later month.
