stagecraft comprises many disciplines, typically divided number of main disciplines:
lighting: lighting design, involves process of determining angle, size, intensity, shape, , color of light given scene. hanging, focusing, procurement , maintenance of lighting , special effects equipment, aspects of show control
make-up/wigs: application of makeup , wigs accentuate actor s features.
mechanics: design, engineering , operation of flown scenery or flying of performers , mechanised scenic elements , special effects.
production, comprising stage management, production management, show control, house management , company management
scenery, includes set construction, scenic painting, theater drapes , stage curtains, , special effects.
sound design, can include musical underscoring, vocal , instrument mixing theatrical sound effects. sound designer responsible system design , build.
theatrical property, or props, includes furnishings, set dressings, , items large , small cannot classified scenery, electrics or wardrobe. crossover may apply. props handled actors known hand props, , props kept in actor s costume known personal props.
