the campus situated in suzhou industrial park, 12 km east of historic center of suzhou, , 90 km west of shanghai. 2,500 years of rich history , culture, suzhou has sustained average annual economic growth-rate of more 15 per cent since beginning of china s reform , opening period, local gdp being ranked fourth largest in china, after beijing, shanghai , guangzhou. suzhou industrial park location more 2,100 international companies, more 100 of fortune 500 companies, including siemens, samsung , nokia. suzhou industrial park home more 20,000 expatriate workers. situated in heart of complex, xi’an jiaotong-liverpool university forms part of international community.

north campus

its campus has been developed in 2 phases. first phase focused on north campus, completed in autumn 2013. overall campus plan designed american architecture firm perkins+will. university s iconic central building inaugurated in autumn 2013 , designed british-asian architecture firm aedas. nominated in 2014 world architecture festival.

south campus

the second development phase focuses on south campus, building started in summer 2013. first phase of south campus opened public on 26 july 2016, major part of university’s 10th anniversary celebrations. architecturally contrasts north campus , features modern designs complement surrounding area. british architects bdp responsible design of south campus.
